Should I start off with the positive or the negative? Well my Robot Tiki mug is running low on delicious Kola Champagne. This makes me sad.
THE NEGATIVE!
Jerry Seinfeld was the WRONG FUCKING CHOICE. Don’t get me wrong, I actually find him pretty funny. But Microsoft needs to go with a “fresh new approach” not the old behemoth is still functional. Apple backed themselves into a corner getting the dorky “cool” of Justin Long, who most people still see as that weird nerd that trys to be overly trendy and just feels silly. Now that buys over the Silicon Valley hipster crowd (that have a lot of pull over people) but M$ could have gotten someone who is ACUTALLY cool, and new, and fresh to be in the commercials and they would have been more effective. Hell get anyone from Superbad and I would be sold. No wait.. get fucking Seth Rogan, he plays the “Do you actually see how stupid you are?” role really fucking well. He could destroy those mac ads. And M$ is already using the really great clear blue “fresh” feeling to all of its live products.
THE POSITIVE!
FUNNY AS FUCK! I mean Jerry was over the top, but Gates was hilarious. And the comedic timing was awesome. Even the mugshot of Gates when he was arrested in college that was circulating the net showing up on the Membership card was so fucking brilliant. I hope they finally take shots back at Apple. I mean Apple is straight up LYING in their ads. They will even go as far to say that the ability to upgrade is a bad thing. (oops too bad those peripherals WONT WORK ON A MAC) I mean why spend a little bit of money to get new parts and keep your system up to date when you can buy an entirely new overpriced system? To do anything else would be just silly! Fuck you. Its about time The Empire Strikes Back.
